Semi-finished contacts are a preliminary step in the manufacturing of contact parts. Technical and economic aspects determine the manufacturing technology to be used. Mechanical, electrical, thermal, electro-thermal, as well as physical processes are applied to blend materials with sometimes very different physical and technological properties.

Semi-finished products with aluminum cladded surfaces and the punched parts manufactured from them are used in hybrid housings for electronic applications. At the interface between electromechanical connectors and electronic subassemblies, aluminum is used as a bondable surface.

Semi-finished products with selective solder layer are the basic product for safety fuses.
