EXPORT, PA - Chi Leung, Ph.D., Director of Research and Development at AMI DODUCO’s North America Business Unit, was named the 2002 recipient of the Armington Recognition Award of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of electrical contacts and given outstanding service to the IEEE’s annual Holm Conference on Electrical Contacts. It was established in 1984 to honor Ralph Armington, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Leung was honored during the 48th Annual Holm Conference, sponsored by the IEEE’s Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) Society, held in Orlando, Florida, October 21-23.
Leung received the award for his many publications and patents related to contact material for power distribution and automotive applications. He has also served on various Holm Conference organization committees since 1984. Leung earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, along with master’s and doctoral degrees in metallurgical engineering, from the University of Michigan. His industry experience spans 26 years, including three years at AMI DODUCO.
