SINSHEIM, Germany -- AMI DODUCO, a unit of Technitrol (NYSE: TNL), recently discussed plans to expand its component subassembly business with government, community and business leaders from the Sinsheim region, where the company produces subassemblies.

The goal of the AMI DODUCO plan is to double annual revenues from the subassembly business within the next four years by expanding product development, production and sales activities throughout Europe. Supporting this effort will be significant investments in additional plant capacity in Sinsheim and as well as an expansion of the work force from 160 current employees to approximately 260 eventually.

Representatives from the government, chamber of commerce, employment bureau and vocational training schools attended the briefing, and pledged their support of the plan, particularly in filling newly created positions in the expanding business. Component subassemblies consist of electrical contacts attached to precision-stamped metal parts, which are then overmolded or assembled in plastic. They are increasingly used in a variety of sensors, process control devices, and switches in autos, telecommunication equipment, appliances and consumer electronics.
