TIANJIN, China – AMI DODUCO, a Technitrol (NYSE: TNL) Company, announced that Chi Leung, Ph.D., Director of Research & Development for North America, has been named to the Chinese Electrotechnical Society’s International Advisory Committee on Reliability of Electrical Products and Electrical Contacts.
Last month, the society sponsored China's First International Conference on Reliability of Electrical Products and Electrical Contacts in Suzhou. At the conference, Leung delivered an industry review paper titled "Review of Automotive Electric Contact Reliability and Research," which he coauthored at AMI DODUCO with Volker Behrens and Guenther Horn.
The purpose of the meeting was to begin building a base of international cooperation and friendship among the participants in China’s rapidly growing electrical products industry, according to society president Liechu Shen. More than 180 attendees from China and seven other countries participated. Technical papers covered reliability studies in power transmission, contactors, circuit breakers, relays, switches and connectors. With a manufacturing plant in Tianjin, AMI DODUCO is the only supplier of Western-engineered electrical contacts operating in China, and it is considered a key source of technical expertise in the electrical contact field.

The committee named Dr. Leung as a member because of his extensive experience and expertise in the contact materials critical to the performance of these products.
