TIANJIN, Peoples Republic of China – AMI DODUCO, a Technitrol (NYSE: TNL) company, announced the registration of its production facility in Tianjin, the People’s Republic of China under the ISO 9001-2000 quality standard. After almost one year of preparations, including internal and external audits that took place on September 23, 2003, the certificate was issued for all operations related to the manufacture of silver-based electrical contact materials and contact components for electrical switching devices.
The two-day final audit was conducted by Shanghai and Beijing representatives of the British Standards Institution (BSI) the official certification agency for AMI DODUCO Tianjin (ADT). The auditors complimented the ADT’s ISO team for its dedicated work in a period of rapid growth and for overcoming the challenges usually associated with vertically integrated manufacturing operations. They attributed the team’s success to the performance of ADT’s employees and the strong support of ADT and AMI DODUCO management.
“We are especially pleased to have successfully met ISO certification requirements across all of the various processes involved in our production of materials and components. We thank and congratulate our Tianjin employees for this momentous achievement,” said ADT General Manager Guenther Horn.
“ISO registration validates our success in establishing the first Western contact manufacturing operation in China and becoming the preferred supplier of contact materials and components to our global customers operating in China and to increasing numbers of Chinese enterprises serving local and export markets,” said Albert Thorp, III, President of AMI DODUCO. “In the years to come, AMI DODUCO’s China presence will be an increasingly important part of our strategy for profitable growth.”
